Jenny was born in Taiwan and grew up in Los Angeles. She received a BA in Japanese literature from Columbia University and a MDes in Design Planning from the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology, and has worked as a management consultant, product designer, translator, university lecturer, innovation consultant, human-centered researcher, and writer, picking up a patent and three languages along the way.

Thoughts usually running through Jenny’s head: story ideas inspired by weird news, the superiority of British and Japanese reality television, her failure in the battle against the dull thrill of social media, the joys and grotesqueries of motherhood, how to eat more chocolate for breakfast.

She currently lives in San Francisco, where she is working on a novel set in Fukushima, Japan.
